From the Seattle PI:
Jean Godden is seeking a third term on the Seattle City Council, in a race that has already drawn four challengers and seen two potential opponents test the waters and drop out.
“I love the job and I have a lot to give it,” Godden said Sunday night.
In her announcement statement, Godden added: “I bring a sense of reality, priority and good old-fashioned experience to the job of Budget Chair at precisely the time when experience is what we need.”
Godden has raised more than $80,000, has about $50,000 in the bank, and expects to spend $250,000. The incumbent’s early donors have included Seattle Port Commissioner Gael Tarleton, former deputy mayor Tim Ceis, and the Seattle Mariners.
